CLEVELAND – FOX 8’S I-Team learned the city’s Deputy Director of Building and Housing, David Cooper, has been placed on paid leave after allegations that he used his office to intimidate and/or threaten members of the business community as well as city employees.
He is facing an administrative charge of misconduct. A disciplinary hearing will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
Cooper was placed on leave Feb. 6.
According to city records, the Department of Human Resources received a complaint Cooper engaged in inappropriate behavior on Thursday, Jan. 30 and Thursday, Feb. 6, which included using his title and position in an alleged effort to intimidate or threaten members of the public and co-workers.
Cooper could not be reached to comment.
