Police seek man wanted for Painesville murder

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Police are asking for help in locating a man wanted for murder.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Walter Delon Tate, a  37-year-old man wanted for the July 4 homicide of James L. Brown.

Tate is 6’1” tall and about 190 pounds.  He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anybody with information on Tate is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Tip Line at 1-866-4WANTED.  A cash reward is available.  Or call the Painesville police tip line at 440-392-5839.

Brown was shot  while sitting in a car in the 900 block of Hine Avenue around 8:30 p.m. July 4.  He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police are not giving a motive for the shooting.
